Gombe Assembly Concludes Screening of 17 Commissioner-Nominees

 

The Gombe State House of Assembly has concluded the screening exercise of the 17 commissioner-nominees submitted to it by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for confirmation as members of the State Executive Council.

 

The exercise commenced last Thursday with the screening of 7 nominees, followed by additional screening of 9 nominees on Friday. Dr. Abdullah Bappah Garkuwa, whose screening was rescheduled for today, has now been screened, marking the completion of the process.

Speaking at the end of the exercise, Hon. Sadam Bello, Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly and Chairman of the Adhoc committee overseeing the screening, expressed his satisfaction, describing the exercise as a significant success. He extended gratitude to the nominees and all stakeholders for their support and cooperation.

He assured that the committee and the entire House would immediately begin the vetting and confirmation process, with confirmation of the nominees to be done and communicated to the governor shortly.
